Iwas walking down the street when I was accostedby a particularly dirty and shabby-lookinghomeless woman who asked me for a couple ofdollars for dinner.

Itook out my wallet, got out ten dollars andasked, 'If I give you this money, will you buywine with it instead of dinner?'

'No,I had to stop drinking ! years a go', the homelesswoman told me.

Thehomeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husbandbe furious with you for doing that? I know I'mdirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'

Isaid, 'That's okay. It's important for him tosee what a woman looks like after she has givenup shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'
